Issues outside the RBQ's jurisdiction

The Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) is involved in all the fields of activity related to construction in the province of Quebec. However, the RBQ is not empowered to settle all of the issues that you may encounter with your property; some other organizations will assist you with these.

Situations where the RBQ cannot take action

Some issues that you may experience are not covered by the RBQ’s mandate:

• Issues related to humidity and moulds inside your property or dwelling: refer to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMCH).
• infiltrations: refer to the Centre d’inspection et d’expertise en bâtiment du Québec.
• Indoor air quality: refer to the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux [Fr].
• Dwelling which you are either a lessor or an owner: refer to the Régie du logement du Québec.
