Licence holders' repertory

The Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) issues licences to construction contractors and owner-builders. Before hiring a contractor to carry out your renovation or construction work, check if he holds a valid licence. To this end, enter his licence number in the Licence holders’ repertory (by company section).

Why hire a licenced contractor?

You’ve received a quote from a contractor to install a heat pump, replace your roof, renovate your bathroom or kitchen, replace your doors and windows, or carry out other work on your property?

The repertory lists all who hold a valid licence, whether you’re looking for a general contractor, a specialized contractor or an owner-builder. Each file includes the following information:

  • Company name(s) and contact information
  • Québec business number
  • RBQ licence number
  • Licence classes and subclasses
  • Association or company providing financial guarantees
  • Outstanding claims or claims paid, if applicable
  • Licence restrictions for public works purposes, if applicable
  • List of guarantors on a licence and their field(s) of qualification
