13.4 Contractor – Local fire extinguishing systems

This subclass authorizes construction work related to local fire extinguishing systems using a product contained in a tank as well as similar or related constructions work.   

Additional explanations

This subclass authorizes, without exceeding the regulatory framework, construction work relating to:

  • fire protection for restaurant ventilation hoods or some computer rooms.   

NO LICENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • filling extinguishers whether or not they are connected to a network  
  • the maintenance or inspection of local fire extinguishing systems. However, if the maintenance or inspection process involves construction work (ex.: dismantling and subsequent assembly) on part of the system, the licence is required.
