13.3 Contractor – Fire extinguishing systems

This subclass authorizes construction work that is not the exclusive domain of master pipe mechanics and relates to automated water-based fire extinguishing systems, standpipe systems as well as similar or related construction work.  

Additional explanations

This subclass authorizes, without exceeding the regulatory framework, construction work relating to:

  • fire pumps
  • connections to the waterworks system
  • standpipe systems and fire cabinets

NO LICENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • the inspection of fire protection systems. However, if the inspection system involves the execution of construction work (ex.: dismantling and subsequent assembly) on part of the system, a licence is required.
