8.0 Contractor – Doors and windows

This subclass authorizes construction work relating to doors, windows, glazed curtain walls as well as similar and related construction work.

Additional explanations

This subclass authorizes, without exceeding the regulatory framework, construction work relating to:

  • skylights
  • facades
  • spandrel panels
  • motorized closing systems (door openers, etc.)
  • industrial doors
  • atriums
  • opening and closing mechanisms
  • door handles and locks
  • caulking

NOTE: The following products are considered glass replacement materials when they are part of a curtain wall: aluminum panel, granite.

NO LICENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • the installation of decorative shelves, small mirrors and bathroom accessories (soap dishes, towel racks, mirrors), vertical and horizontal blinds, drapes, curtains, venetian blinds
  • screen repairs
  • the piecemeal replacement of door handles and locks in an existing building.
