  • Priority applications: April 20, 2026
  • Regular applications: March 23, 2026

Examinations

What happens if you fail or miss an exam?

If you receive a notice of failure or absence from an exam, you have 30 days from the time you receive it in which to submit an application to retake the examination [Fr] – PDF (214 KB). This application must include the full fee amount for the examination(s) you wish to retake. We will contact you to notify you of the date of the examination session.

If you fail or are absent from a retake exam, or if you did not register for it within the required timeframe, you will not be allowed to take it again until 4 months have passed from the date of the decision confirming your failure or absence.

If you wish to contest your failure, you may submit an application for a review [Fr] – PDF (596 KB) within 30 days of the RBQ’s decision.
