The current qualification examinations are for contractors, owner-builders and for licence holder guarantors who have been or will apply for a license after the entry into force of the Regulation respecting the professional qualification of building contractors and owner-builders
, on June 25, 2008.
Contractors and owner-builders who already held a licence at that date do not have to requalify. They also keep their rights with respect to the examinations and examination units that they had passed as well as to recognitions obtained before the coming into force of the new regulation. However, if they want to have their licence amended, they may have to requalify according to the criteria now in effect.
Transitory measures are also provided under this regulation to all persons who have acted as guarantors in the last five years preceeding a new licence application, but which were no longer acting as one at June 24, 2008.
